If “rest” is one of the great rewards God promises us in the Bible why do we so often literally run from it?
“The Lord replied, ‘My presence will go with you and I will give you rest…Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest…Come apart with me and get some rest… [--Jesus]…Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it” (Exodus 33:14; Matthew 11:28; Mark 6:31; Hebrews 4:1).
